In a bid to ensure road safety, police in Bad Salzdetfurth and Bockenem conducted mobile traffic checks on August 28, 2025. The checks led to several criminal and administrative offense proceedings.
At around 23:27 in Bad Salzdetfurth, a woman driving a Seat passenger car was stopped. A criminal proceeding was initiated against her for driving despite an existing driving ban. The woman, who has not been publicly named, had surrendered her driver's license due to a driving ban a few days prior to the incident.
In the same street, an electric scooter was checked around the same time. The scooter did not comply with the relevant regulations for small electric vehicles and should not have been used in public traffic. The 18-year-old owner of the scooter was suspected of falsely stating that it was registered for road traffic.
Meanwhile, in Bockenem, at approximately 23:00 in Hachumer StraΓe, a truck with defective lighting equipment was found. A criminal proceeding was initiated against the owner for indirect false certification. The truck driver in question, a 35-year-old, was wanted by the public prosecutor's office in Essen for previous traffic offenses.
Interestingly, in 31167 Bockenem, at 22:39, a truck driver was found using a "speed camera warning app" on his mobile phone. This is an administrative offense, punishable by a fine of at least 75 euros plus processing costs and one "point in Flensburg." The driver in this case was a 21-year-old truck driver, whose identity has not been disclosed in available sources.
No information was provided about any other incidents or offenses that occurred during the traffic checks. The pending proceedings against the drivers can now continue. It is a reminder to all road users to adhere to traffic regulations for the safety of everyone on the road.
