Injured by a Blade: Political Event Involves Stabbing

In the heart of Reutlingen, Kaiserstraße played unwilling host to a violent altercation between two acquaintances on August 11, 2025. The incident, which started with verbal arguments around 10:40 AM, has led to the involvement of the Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen and the Criminal Investigation Department Reutlingen.

The initial altercation saw a 34-year-old man sustain severe injuries after being attacked by a younger man, who is believed to be a 39-year-old. The younger man retrieved a knife from his vehicle and inflicted injuries upon his counterpart. The 39-year-old was arrested and released the following morning after completing the necessary police procedures, while the 34-year-old was temporarily held at Bad Urach police station.

The 34-year-old suspect was subsequently presented to the judge at Reutlingen District Court on Tuesday afternoon, where it was confirmed that he is suspected of attempted homicide. The 39-year-old, on the other hand, is suspected of dangerous bodily harm. The judge issued the arrest warrant requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen and put it into effect.

The 39-year-old, who is a Syrian national, was initially taken to the hospital for outpatient treatment. He was later transferred to a justice facility hospital. The name of the judge who approved the Tübingen public prosecutor's request to arrest the 34-year-old suspect on Wednesday evening is not currently available.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old suspect required initial inpatient treatment at a clinic following the attack and fall he sustained during the altercation. He has since been moved to a secure custody facility and is currently in custody. The 34-year-old suspect also filed a complaint at Bad Urach police station.

Investigations are still ongoing, with evidence gathered including the suspected weapon, which was found and seized in the 34-year-old's vehicle. The community of Reutlingen hopes for a swift resolution to this unfortunate incident.
