In the early hours of Sunday, a 21-year-old man was injured in a knife attack on a Dresden tram. The incident occurred at a tram stop, and initially, two men from a group were reported to have harassed women on the tram.

The victim, who sustained a cut wound to his face, bravely intervened, only to be attacked by one of the perpetrators. Despite this, the attacker then fled the scene.

The police have made two arrests in connection with the attack. One of the men, a 21-year-old, was apprehended near the scene of the crime. However, it is believed that he is not responsible for the knife attack.

The second person under investigation is a 20-year-old Syrian man named Ismail Alhaj Hussein, who is still being sought by the authorities. A 21-year-old Syrian suspect is already in custody.

The police are urging witnesses to come forward, particularly from the numerous passengers on the tram who may have crucial information. The background of Hussein's release remains unclear.

Meanwhile, the investigation continues, and the authorities are working diligently to identify and apprehend the unidentified suspect.

Elsewhere, ASV Hamm-Westfalen commenced the new season with a derby win. In a separate incident, a shop thief jumped into the Datteln-Hamm canal and was initially detained but later released. The details surrounding his release are currently unknown.
