In the early hours of this morning, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Autobahn 45/Autobahn 3 interchange in Seligenstadt.

According to the South East Hesse Police Headquarters, the incident involved a 22-year-old Volkswagen Polo driver and a 22-year-old passenger. The car veered off the road to the right and ended up in a bush, causing approximately 5,000 euros worth of damage.

The first emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after the report, and both occupants of the car were taken to nearby hospitals. The passenger, unfortunately, sustained life-threatening injuries.

The lanes in the area of the accident were temporarily fully closed during the investigation. An expert was called in for further analysis, and witnesses are asked to contact the South East Hesse Police Highway Station at the number 06181 9010-0.

The accident occurred while the driver was heading towards Aschaffenburg on the Autobahn 45. Initially, the driver took the tangent onto the Autobahn 3, heading towards Wuerzburg. However, the exact cause of the accident remains unknown at this time.
