The Shanghai Auto Show in April will see the unveiling of two exciting new vehicles from the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture. One of these is the new Dongfeng-Honda Civic, while the other is a separate model called the Lingxi L, an electric sedan.

The new Civic, which will be presented at the show, will come with 1.8 and 2.0 engines, as confirmed by the joint venture. However, it's the Lingxi L electric sedan that steals the spotlight with its long-distance capabilities. The Lingxi L has a range of 520 km, making it a significant leap from the previously mentioned engine options for the Civic.

Interestingly, the Lingxi L is not the Civic, but a separate model. It's the first electric vehicle from the joint venture, marking their expansion beyond traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. This move makes Dongfeng-Honda the first Sino-foreign joint venture to have its own EV brand.

The Lingxi L's range is not specified for a 'Type S' sporty version, if such a model exists. However, the back of the new car shows a 'Type S' badge, indicating a sporty version of the Civic. It remains unclear whether this badge represents purely cosmetic changes or increased power for the sporty Civic.

Meanwhile, the new Civic, made in China by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture, will debut under the name Honda S7. The sporty model of the new Civic from the joint venture, which will be presented at the Shanghai Auto Show, is the Honda S7.

The Dongfeng-Honda Lingxi L electric sedan is a new development in the joint venture's electric vehicle lineup. The company's commitment to electric vehicles is clear, as they continue to push the boundaries of technology and design. The Shanghai Auto Show is set to be an exciting event, showcasing the future of automotive technology from Dongfeng-Honda.
