Inquiry made by a Yakutsk resident concerning the repair timeline for the road adjacent to the Farmers' Market
In the heart of Yakutsk, a city known for its harsh climate and vibrant culture, a debate is brewing over the future of two iconic markets – the Farmer's Market and the Krest'yansky Market.
Recent suspicions suggest that repairs to the Farmer's Market area may be delayed due to its potential ownerless status. This concern was raised by political observer Vitaly Obedin, who also expressed worries about the potential sale of the Farmer's Market to make way for a shopping center, with only a few rural and farm households given space on the first floor.
Meanwhile, the Krest'yansky Market is planned for privatization. During a discussion at the sixth plenary session of the State Assembly of the Il Tumen, Deputy Victor Fedorov questioned the privatization process, raising concerns about potential shady schemes. The estimated cost of AO "Sayssary" shares, which includes the Krest'yansky Market, is 89 million rubles.
One building in the Krest'yansky Market is estimated to be worth around 300 million rubles. Minister of Property and Land Relations Pavel Bagynanov clarified that the "Sayasary" market will not be transferred to private hands in its entirety. Instead, part of the market will remain under the control of "Sayasary", while another part will be used as a partner and developer.
However, Bagynanov seemed hesitant to reveal more details about the privatization process, responding with a hint of secrecy. He mentioned plans for a shopping center, a new market, and street premises. It's unclear if RIA, a potential partner for the "Sayasary" market, will engage in trade or construction of housing.
Obedin reported that only one deputy had questions about the privatization of the Krest'yansky Market. The editorial "Yakutia.Info" questions how the upcoming sale will affect the internal and adjacent territory of the Farmer's Market, including the potential repairs to the broken road causing concern to a Yakutsk resident.
In a transcript of the dialogue between Deputy Victor Fedorov and Minister Pavel Bagynanov, Fedorov asked about potential plans for the Krest'yansky Market after privatization, suggesting demolition and construction of a shopping center. Bagynanov, however, assured that necessary renovation measures will be implemented, and if the Kostjumarkt area is sold, repairs to the deteriorated road will be carried out.
The International Children of Asia Games are approaching, and it's possible that the Farmer's Market and its adjacent territory will be brought into order as part of the event's preparations. Obedin, in a light grilling of Bagynanov during the discussion, suggested that the repairs to the broken road near the Farmer's Market may be delayed due to the possibility of the area being ownerless.
As the future of these markets hangs in the balance, the citizens of Yakutsk await clarification and assurances about the repairs, privatization, and the impact on their community.
