In the past few days, the Rhein-Erft-Kreis Police have been investigating a series of burglaries and car thefts that occurred over the weekend, from the 30th of May to the 1st of June. The incidents were reported in the towns of Hürth, Frechen, Bergheim, and Pulheim.

On Friday around 11:15 AM, unknown individuals forced their way into a house on Abt-Aemilius Straße in Brauweiler through the garden. In Hürth, a Mercedes car was stolen in a break-in on "Hürther Bogen" early Sunday morning around 3:30 AM. The police have not confirmed if the incidents in Hürth and Frechen are connected.

In Frechen, burglars broke into a house on Johann-Simon-Straße around 7:45 PM, but the unknown individuals fled when the residents noticed them. In Bergheim, suspects smashed a window during the break-in, but the investigation is ongoing to determine if anything was stolen.

No further details about the suspects or their vehicles have been provided. The unknown perpetrators of the car theft series have not been identified or named; the police are still seeking witnesses and information to solve the cases. They have released descriptions of some suspects involved in related vehicle break-ins, such as two young men around 25 years old seen in Pulheim.
