Insurance company Cornerstone designated Omonkhogbe as the replacement for Emeka Ogbechie, who departed from the director position.

In a significant development, Cornerstone Insurance Plc has announced the appointment of Ejakhaluse Zoe Omonkhogbe as a Non-Executive Director. The appointment, approved by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) on July 28, 2025, is expected to be ratified at Cornerstone's next Annual General Meeting.

Mr. Omonkhogbe brings a wealth of experience to the table, having served as a Non-Executive Director across multiple companies. His extensive background includes finance, private equity, real estate, and professional services. Notably, he currently serves as Executive Director at Capital Alliance Nigeria, where he oversees the finance and tax functions.

Before joining Cornerstone Insurance, Mr. Omonkhogbe was Executive Director at Capital Alliance Nigeria, managing the firm’s finance and tax functions with over two decades of experience in his field. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Science and Education and an MBA as a Welch Scholar from the Jack Welch Management Institute. He has also completed executive education programs at the London School of Business and Finance and the University of Oxford.

The appointment of Mr. Omonkhogbe follows the resignation of Mr. Emeka Anthony Ogbechie from the board of Cornerstone Insurance Plc.

In addition to the new appointment, Cornerstone Insurance Plc has reported a strong performance in Q1 2025. The company received premiums amounting to N13.8 billion, a significant increase from N9.8 billion in the same period last year. Claims paid by Cornerstone Insurance rose to N3.9 billion, compared to N1.2 billion in March 2024.

In a positive move for shareholders, Cornerstone Insurance Plc announced a final dividend of 27 kobo for every share of 50 kobo, for the financial year ended December 31, 2024. This dividend is set to be paid to qualified shareholders.

The announcement of Mr. Omonkhogbe's appointment was formally communicated to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), shareholders, and the investing public on Friday. Mr. Omonkhogbe is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional.

As Cornerstone Insurance Plc continues to grow and evolve, the addition of Mr. Omonkhogbe to its board is expected to strengthen its financial and tax functions, contributing to the company's ongoing success.
