The operation, which involved personnel from Career Firefighters at Fire Stations 5 (Marten), 8 (Eichlinghofen), 9 (Mengede), and 21 (Bodelschwingh), along with the Command Service, and volunteers from Fire Station 21 (Bodelschwingh), lasted approximately two hours.
The emergency medical service was also on the scene with multiple ambulances and a paramedic. Six others were examined and cared for by emergency services at the scene.
The apartment where the fire originated and the one below it are currently uninhabitable.
