Inter Milan Faces Udinese in the 2025-26 Serie A Match: Overview, Forecast, Pivotal Stars
Inter Milan Facing Udinese in Serie A Showdown
Inter Milan are set to take on Udinese in the Serie A on Sunday, with the Nerazzurri aiming to extend their impressive record against the Friuliani.
In recent history, Inter have dominated the encounters, winning their last five league matches against Udinese, scoring 14 goals in total. This includes their most recent victory, a 5-0 triumph in their opening game of the season, a result that was their third-ever Serie A win by five goals or more, and the first since 1961.
Marcus Thuram, who scored twice in Inter's opening-day victory, has been in fine form. The French forward has scored six goals in Serie A in the month of August, the most for any month in his career. His double against Torino took him to five goals in the current campaign, equalling his best tally in a single Serie A season.
Inter head coach Cristian Chivu has emphasized the importance of maintaining high levels of maturity and mentality for their upcoming game. He has hinted at potential changes to his formation due to Inter's European commitments beginning next month in the Champions League, but only if it benefits the team and maintains meritocracy.
Udinese, on the other hand, have struggled in recent times. They have lost their last seven league away matches against Inter, and have won only one of their last 12 Serie A matches, with their last victory coming away to Cagliari on May 3.
However, Chivu has praised Udinese's qualities, stating that they are physically structured, mobile, flexible, and have a structured midfield. He also acknowledged that the Bianconeri have shown quality this season, despite changing their system.
According to Opta, Inter have a 68.9% probability of winning the match, while Udinese have a 13.2% probability. The draw probability is 17.9%.
Inter could keep a clean sheet in back-to-back home league games for the first time since their opening two home matches of last term. If they manage to do so against Udinese, it would further strengthen their position in the Serie A table.
Chivu has stressed the importance of maintaining high standards on home soil ahead of their game against Udesse. Inter will be looking to continue their impressive form and extend their winning streak against Udinese when they face off on Sunday.
