Intimate Gathering Held in Historic Military Quarters
The city of Landshut is gearing up for its 12th Family Festival, a day filled with fun and activities for all ages. Hosted by the Coordinating Child Protection Center (KoKi), the event takes place on the lush lawn of the Old Barracks on June 21, from 11 am to 5:30 pm.
Landshut, the proud recipient of the "Child-friendly Municipality" title, is committed to making the city an even more child-friendly place. The city council has been working on a new action plan to further enhance its child-friendliness, but the specific details are yet to be announced.
Visitors are warmly invited to bring their own picnic or enjoy the refreshments provided at the event. The day promises a colorful fringe program, including puppet theater by ZAK, a magic show, performances by Clown Fabellini, face painting, a bouncy castle, and dance and music performances.
For the younger attendees, there are various games and crafting and painting activities available, designed for children up to about 12 years old. The festival also offers a range of local institutions, facilities, and associations participating, ensuring a diverse and inclusive event.
Admission to the event is free, making it an accessible and enjoyable day out for families in Landshut. The city council is taking active steps to make the city more child-friendly, and this event is a testament to their efforts.
Landshut received the "Child-friendly Municipality" seal in August 2022, a recognition of its ongoing commitment to the well-being and happiness of its young residents. The second action plan of the child-friendly municipality of Landshut, developed by the municipality's local administration and relevant stakeholders, will be unveiled in August 2023.
So, mark your calendars and join the city of Landshut in celebrating its child-friendliness at the 12th Family Festival. It's a day not to be missed!
