In the early hours of Thursday morning, a serious traffic accident occurred in Cologne-Braunsfeld. The incident took place on Aachener Straße at house number 522, specifically on the bike lane.

According to reports, a 50-year-old man was traveling on the bike lane of Aachener Straße heading out of the city when he collided with an e-scooter parked on the lane. As a result, he fell onto the sidewalk and was found unconscious by a passerby.

The passerby immediately provided assistance to the victim and called for an ambulance. The man was then taken to a nearby hospital, where he was found to have suffered severe head injuries.

The police are currently investigating the accident and have ordered a blood test at the hospital to determine if the victim was under the influence of alcohol. However, due to the victim's condition, it remains uncertain if he was under the influence at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been publicly released. The location of the accident was marked by the discovery of the unconscious man on the sidewalk of Aachener Straße.
