FAW Group, a leading Chinese automaker, has announced plans for its future lineup, following the imminent cessation of production for the Jetta, a car produced through its joint venture with Volkswagen.

The Jetta facelift has been introduced, but its production is not expected to last long. After the production stops, a full production line, engines, and a platform will be available for future use. This decision could potentially pave the way for new models to emerge from FAW's stable.

One of the upcoming models is the FAW Besturn B30, expected to be the next offering from FAW's Besturn brand. The body of the B30 appears to be based on the old Tianjin-FAW-Xiali Vela, suggesting a strategic use of an existing platform. However, this choice raises some concerns about the reputation of the relatively new Besturn brand, given the B30's reliance on an older design.

The B30 is not the only model in FAW's pipeline. The B60 is expected to slot between the B50 and B70 in the Besturn lineup. However, there seems to be a space issue with the B60, as there is no actual space for it between the B50 and B70 in the current lineup.

FAW Group is also planning to expand its electric vehicle offerings. The B70 will undergo a length extension and will be available in two versions: B70HEV (electric hybrid) and B70L (longer version).

In addition to these developments, FAW Group is looking to acquire a 10% stake in Leapmotor, a company backed by Stellantis. This move could further strengthen FAW's position in the electric vehicle market.

However, there is some skepticism about the story and pictures related to the B30 due to the use of an old body and platform. This skepticism underscores the importance of transparency and clear communication in the automotive industry, especially when it comes to new models and their underlying technology.

As of now, no new information about FAW's collaboration with Toyota or hydrogen fuel cell vehicle development was provided. It is expected that FAW will continue to innovate and expand its offerings in the ever-evolving automotive landscape.
