The Geely Galaxy series is set to expand with the introduction of the Galaxy L6 PHEV sedan, joining the first model, the Galaxy L7 plug-in hybrid SUV, and the third vehicle, the electric sedan Galaxy E8. This lineup, under the Geely brand, will eventually comprise seven vehicles.

The Geely Galaxy E8, a 5-meter sedan with an attractive styling, has recently debuted in the MIIT catalogue in China. It boasts a slick roofline, retractable door handles, and a unique single taillight unit with 'Geely' inscription. The exterior design is based on the Geely Galaxy Light concept car, featuring thin LED running lights, integrated headlights into the front bumper, and a trapeze-shaped air intake in the lower part of the bumper.

Powering the Geely Galaxy E8 is the TZ220XSA02 electric motor, the same one that powers Smart #1, Zeekr X, Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009, and other EVs related to Geely. The battery, however, is from Quzhou Jidian New Energy, a young battery maker under Geely. The exact battery pack capacity remains undisclosed.

The electric motor and LFP battery are both made by Geely, providing the vehicle with a 200 kW (272 hp) power output. The Geely Galaxy E8 is a rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicle, offering a smooth and efficient driving experience.

The Geely Galaxy E8 is rumored to sell for around 200,000 yuan (27,600 USD), positioning it to compete with the electric versions of BYD Han, Neta S, Rising F7, GAC Aion Hyper GT, and Leap C01 in China.

The drive electronics for the Geely Galaxy E8 are produced by Nidec, a company known for its expertise in this field. The company's focus on quality and innovation is expected to contribute to the overall performance of the Geely Galaxy E8.

As the Geely Galaxy E8 prepares to hit the market, it promises to offer a compelling combination of style, performance, and affordability, making it an exciting addition to the electric vehicle landscape in China.
