In a significant development, a police operation conducted on August 11th in the "Im Ferkulum" area of Wuppertal has disrupted a drug trading network. The operation, led by the city center deployment unit, was initiated due to suspicions of drug trafficking.

Following a series of observations by plainclothes officers, it was suspected that drug trading was taking place in kiosks in both the Severinstraße and "Im Ferkulum" areas. After the operation, the narcotics trade shifted to the kiosk in the "Im Ferkulum" area.

During the court-ordered search, officers found significant amounts of cocaine and heroin, typically packaged for street-level sales. Approximately €1,500 in suspected drug money was also seized. The drugs and cash were seized as evidence in the criminal proceedings.

A 28-year-old suspect was temporarily arrested during the operation, and another 22-year-old kiosk operator was targeted in the criminal proceedings. Both suspects are suspected of jointly trading drugs. The kiosk was closed and sealed by the local authority.

The investigation does not stop here. In recent weeks, two young men involved in selling cocaine and cannabis from a kiosk are facing investigation by prosecution. Two 16-year-old youths were arrested during a kiosk robbery in Wuppertal, and investigations are ongoing in several cities including Wuppertal, Mettmann, Dormagen, and Solingen.

The 28-year-old suspect will be presented to a judge as the criminal proceedings against them have been initiated. The police operation serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
