Investigation underway for targeted intrusion and theft at a hotel in Renfrew, Ontario.
In the quiet town of Renfrew, Ontario, an unexpected incident unfolded at an inn on Gibbons Road shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday. According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the incident appears to be a targeted home invasion and robbery.
Two men are believed to have entered a room at the inn, assaulting the occupants with bear spray. The assailants made off with stolen property before fleeing the hotel. Despite a thorough search involving additional officers, including members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit, the suspects were not located.
The name of the inn involved in the incident has not been released by police, and the operator or management of the Inn on Gibbons Road has not been publicly disclosed. The OPP are urging anyone with information about the incident (E251186385) to contact the Renfrew OPP.
