Investment by Cathay Capital in Parkview Dental Partners Declared
In a significant move for the dental industry, global private equity and venture capital firm Cathay Capital has invested in Parkview Dental Partners. This investment will propel Parkview's growth in Florida's lucrative $9 billion dental services market.
Established in 2018 in Sarasota, Florida, Parkview Dental Partners is a dental service organization (DSO) that manages 22 dental practices, having expanded from eight practices since its inception. The organisation offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including general dentistry and specialty services.
Cathay Capital, which manages over $5.5 billion in assets, supports healthcare, technology, and consumer companies in North America, Europe, and Asia. The investment in Parkview Dental Partners comes from Cathay's Growth Private Equity Fund (Small Cap IV), which closed in June 2023.
The Southwest Florida market, where Parkview operates, exhibits robust population growth at three times the national average, an aging population with higher dental care needs, and strong GDP growth. This investment is expected to further fuel Parkview's expansion in the region.
Live Oak Banking Company and Barings have also contributed to Parkview's growth by providing a unitranche credit facility in the recapitalization, with Barings also providing an equity co-investment alongside Cathay Capital.
Provident Healthcare Partners, LLC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the Sellers in the transaction.
