Invitation and Details for an Upcoming Press Conference - Senior Pedelec Tutorial - Road Safety Tips - Seeking Attendees
On Thursday, July 25, 2024, the Düsseldorf Police will be hosting a Pedelec training session at the Düsseldorf Youth Traffic School, located at Rather Broich 137, 40472 Düsseldorf. This training is specifically designed for individuals aged 65 and above.
The session, which runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, aims to raise awareness of the dangers associated with E-bikes, particularly among older people. Leading Police Director Jasmin Wierczioch emphasised the importance of the training, stating that it aims to demonstrate how quickly dangerous situations can arise in road traffic and how to react appropriately.
Participants are required to bring their own Pedelec, a helmet, and sturdy footwear. The training includes practical exercises, basic technical knowledge, and safe handling of Pedelecs. Four traffic safety advisors will be on hand to assist seniors during the session.
Interested media representatives are asked to arrive on the grounds by 11:00 AM. They will have the opportunity to speak with participants and advisors on the training grounds. No registration is necessary for the training.
Pedelecs are increasingly popular and considered an important means of mobility and independence for many people. However, recent statewide figures confirm that more Pedelecs on the roads lead to more traffic accidents.
