Constitution River Wins the Coolmore Stud Wootton Bassett Tom Cooper Irish EBF Futurity Stakes

In a thrilling race at the Curragh, Constitution River, a Wootton Bassett colt, emerged victorious in the Coolmore Stud Wootton Bassett Tom Cooper Irish EBF Futurity Stakes. The Irish-trained horse, bred by Sean Tiernan, left his four rivals trailing in his wake, securing a two-length victory.

Prior to the race, Constitution River was the 5-6 favorite, with Ethical Diamond, a well-backed 5-1 favorite, finishing second. Ethical Diamond, ridden by William Buick, got a dream run against the stands rail when being delivered with his challenge.

Aidan O'Brien's Queenstown finished third in the race, marking another strong showing for Irish-trained horses, who filled the top three places in the Sky Bet Ebor at York. Willie Mullins, the trainer of Ethical Diamond, celebrated his third victory in the York race. Henry de Bromhead's Ascending finished second in the Sky Bet Ebor.

Constitution River's win continues Aidan O'Brien's domination of the race. The trainer, who also claimed the victory in 2019 and 2020, is looking to move Constitution River up to Group One level now. O'Brien mentioned the National Stakes as a potential race for Constitution River in the future.

The colt put his experience from his Newmarket debut and Galway Festival win to good use in the Coolmore Stud Wootton Bassett Tom Cooper Irish EBF Futurity Stakes. Constitution River bowled along in front and went through the gears with two furlongs to run, displaying a powerful finish.

Meanwhile, Paddy Power have made Constitution River a 14-1 shot for next year's 2,000 Guineas, indicating that the colt's success is not going unnoticed in the racing world. With his impressive performance at the Curragh, Constitution River has undoubtedly cemented his place as a horse to watch in the upcoming racing season.
