Island Vacation Turns into Stranded: Release Date, Host, Cast, Preview, and What We Understand

Prepare for a unique twist on dating shows as BBC One introduces "Stranded on Honeymoon Island", airing every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9 pm, starting September 3. This new series is part of Seven. One Studios and commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC.

The show brings together 12 unlucky-in-love singletons, who are matched into couples and stranded on a deserted island. Hosted by serial matchmaker Davina McCall, 57, the contestants will face isolation and be pitted against the forces of nature as they fast-track their relationships.

The contestants include Abby, David, Hannah, Helen, Ini, Jordan, Mae, Millie, Moray, Ollie (31), Sam (30), and Taniae (33). Among them, Helen is a contestant who is dealing with her mother's cancer and her brother's terminal brain tumor, seeking love amidst her challenges.

"Stranded on Honeymoon Island" is a blend of popular formats such as "Survivor" and "Married at First Sight". The production company behind this BBC show is CPL Productions, a Seven.One Studios company, with Executive Producers Murray Boland, Danielle Lux, and Rachel Viner.

The teams responsible for "Married At First Sight UK" and "Love Is Blind UK" have also contributed to the production of this exciting new series. The show has already been broadcast in Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, and Czech Republic, and has been commissioned in Australia.
