Issuance of student IDs commences with the arrival of the new school year
HTW Dresden students are gearing up for the upcoming academic year as the university announces the introduction of a new CampusCard. This all-in-one student ID will replace the previous Emeal card and serve as a library card, access card for doors and barriers, and visual ID.
Students are encouraged to update their address in the QIS portal (www.qis.htw-dresden.de) to ensure timely delivery of their CampusCard. Re-registered students can expect to receive their CampusCard via postal delivery.
The CampusCard includes the payment function of the Student Services Dresden, previously known from the Emeal card, making payments in the canteens and cafeterias of the university more convenient than ever. Additionally, the CampusCard functions as a digital student ID, displaying the current enrollment status.
More information about the CampusCard can be found at www.htw-dresden.de/campuscard. Mass production of the CampusCard will begin soon for re-registered students, with the first cards being mailed out starting mid-September 2025.
For students who prefer a digital solution, a digital student ID is available in the mobile app of HTW Dresden. This digital ID can be used for museum visits or cinema entries, although acceptance outside the university is not guaranteed.
Sandrina Sperlich, a student at HTW Dresden, expressed her excitement about the new CampusCard, stating, "It's great to have everything in one card. It's going to make my university life much more convenient."
The new CampusCard, which combines traditional functions with modern technology, is set to enhance the student experience at HTW Dresden. The registration period for the Winter Semester 2025/26 is from 30.06.2025 to 25.07.2025. Students are advised to register promptly to ensure they receive their CampusCard in a timely manner.
