The highly anticipated Italy vs Portugal match delivered an enthralling spectacle, with both teams showcasing their skills and tenacity throughout the game.

The second half saw a shift in momentum, as the 'Azzurra' team demonstrated more courage, trying to turn the tide in their favour. However, it was Portugal who regained control swiftly, following a series of events.

At the 36th minute, Sofia Moncóvio scored a goal for Portugal, setting the stage for a competitive half. Just a minute later, Maria Sofia Silva added another to Portugal's tally, leaving Italy struggling to keep up.

In a crucial moment at the 29-minute mark, Veronica Caretta saved a penalty for the Italian team, preventing a potential three-goal deficit. This was followed by a significant intervention by Sandra Coelho, who saved a penalty for Portugal at the 23-minute mark, keeping the scoreline close.

The game took an interesting turn when Anna Orsato was shown a blue card, giving Portugal a numerical advantage for a minute. Despite this opportunity, Portugal failed to capitalise, with Catarina Costa's shot hitting the post.

Meanwhile, the young Italian football prodigy, Emma Cazzola, made her debut for the Italian team at an unknown point in the game. Cazzola, who debuted for the national team at the age of 14, showcased her talent with a commendable performance.

The first half ended with Portugal leading, thanks to Raquel Santos' goal at the eight-minute mark and Sofia Bertinatto's quick goal for Italy in the 39th second. Maria Vieira had no time to react to Bertinatto's goal, leaving the scoreline unchanged at the break.

The second half saw more action, with Leonor Coelho tying the game for Italy at the six-minute mark with an individual effort. However, the final score of the match remains unspecified.

In a separate Group A game, Spain continued their dominance, defeating France 8-0. Spain, the record holder of victories, has won eight trophies, the last seven consecutively. Portugal, with their three continental titles (1997, 1999, and 2001), will be aiming to challenge Spain's reign in future matches.
