In a symbolic handover at the Hottenstein Primary School on Wittener Street, Markus Schlomski, Managing Director and CEO of WSW Energie & Wasser AG, and Sascha Grabowski, Managing Director and ESW Operations Manager, distributed water bottles, lunch boxes, and traffic reflectors to four first-graders.

This initiative, which also involved AWG, aims to encourage less packaging use and promote safety in traffic for children. The water bottle is intended to replace tetra packs and disposable bottles, while the lunch box is designed to reduce the use of butter paper or foil.

The traffic reflector, a key component of the package, can be attached to a school bag, making it easier for children to move safely in traffic. Sascha Grabowski emphasised that the children can more easily dispense with unnecessary packaging in their daily lives and move safely in traffic with the ESW reflector.

Markus Schlomski, in his address, highlighted the importance of teaching children as early as possible to avoid litter. He mentioned that the children learn as early as possible to avoid litter with the joint welcome greeting.

This year, a total of 4,600 water bottles, lunch boxes, and traffic reflectors have been distributed to primary schools across the city. The distribution was not limited to the Hottenstein Primary School, but extended to multiple primary schools.

The ESW (Eigenbetrieb Straßenreinigung Wuppertal) is participating in this action this year, demonstrating their commitment to a cleaner and safer environment for the city's children.

While the names of the four students who received the items at the Hottenstein Elementary School Center on Wittener Straße were not disclosed, their acceptance of the water bottles, lunch bags, and traffic reflectors on behalf of all the first-graders signifies a significant step towards a more sustainable and safer future for the city's school children.
