Job Market Situation in BMI Region

In a significant move, Nancy Faeser, the newly appointed leader of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland, has announced a series of personnel changes that will see a shift towards gender diversity within the ministry.

Andreas Könen, who has been leading the Cybersecurity department since 2018, has announced his retirement. His departure will be filled by Friederike Dahns, a seasoned professional in the field. Meanwhile, Eva-Lotta Gutjahr, currently heading the Constitutional Law department, will take over the leadership of the Central Department from Martin von Simson.

The retirement of Pia Karger from the Digital Society department will be replaced by Martin von Simson, who previously headed the Central Department. Simultaneously, Gabriele Nieradzik will succeed Eva-Lotta Gutjahr as the head of the Constitutional Law department.

These changes will result in six out of 13 departments in the ministry being led by women, marking a notable increase in gender diversity. Nancy Faeser's reshuffle will see nearly half of the departments in the Interior Ministry being led by women, a significant step towards promoting equality in leadership positions.

The retirement of Gutjahr from the Constitutional Law department will be filled by Gabriele Nieradzik, while the leadership of the Central Department will pass from Martin von Simson to Eva-Lotta Gutjahr. Lastly, the Digital Society department will be headed by Martin von Simson following the personnel changes.

These changes are expected to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the respective departments, as well as contribute to a more balanced leadership within the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland.
