Jon Hopkins' collaboration with Abbey Road Studios is described as "extraordinary" by him.
In a remarkable collaboration, renowned electronic musician Jon Hopkins has been invited to create new music for the Intimate and Expansive presets of Abbey Road Studios Mode, a groundbreaking audio system exclusive to the Polestar 3.
Hopkins, known for merging experimentation with emotional nuance, aimed to capture the sound of Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios for the Expansive preset, while crafting a subtle, contemplative piece for the Intimate preset. The collaboration was arranged to showcase the unique sonic characteristics of Polestar 3's Abbey Road Studios Mode.
Meanwhile, rising jazz star corto.alto was invited to reimagine two of his most impactful tracks for the Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3. The producer found being in Polestar 3's studio session in Abbey Road Studio Two to be "so cool".
Abbey Road Studios Mode was co-developed by Abbey Road and Bowers & Wilkins, and it offers a producer mode that allows users granular customisation of their audio experience. The system is available exclusively with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system in Polestar 3.
The Polestar portraits series, which showcases a commitment to speed and performance, as well as a distinctive approach to life that balances performance, well-being, and creativity, presents a variety of individuals who embody this ethos. Alongside Hopkins and corto.alto, the series features professional athletes and artists such as Demi Vollering, a professional cyclist, and Kevin Love, an iconic athlete and style-conscious advocate.
This collaboration marks another step in the legacy of Abbey Road Studios, which has hosted numerous iconic artists throughout its history. However, a search of recent collaborations did not reveal any evidence of an artist re-recording two signature tracks in Studio Two specifically for the Polestar 3’s Abbey Road Studios Mode. Nevertheless, the studio's legacy and the artists who have recorded there continue to inspire new and exciting projects.
In the words of Jon Hopkins, working on this project in one of the most famous rooms in music was a privilege: "I feel fortunate to have been able to work in Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios, and I'm excited for people to experience the unique sound of Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3."
