Journalist Tatyana Vasilyeva-Simakova: Seeking Justice After a Fatal Traffic Accident

Tatyana Vasilyeva-Simakova, a well-respected journalist who previously worked for the newspaper "Il Tumen", the press service of the Il Tumen, and Yakutia 24 TV, tragically lost her life in a traffic accident on September 15, 2021. The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Semen Danilova and Zhornitskogo streets, and the pedestrian, Tatyana Vasilyeva-Simakova, died at the scene from her injuries.

Two minor daughters are now left without their mother, with her sister acting as their guardian. The driver responsible for the accident, a 44-year-old operating an "Isuzu" crane, has not been identified as the person who met with Tatyana's family or expressed condolences.

Despite the tragic event, no new information regarding the investigation's progress has been provided. Tatyana's relatives and friends believe the investigative authorities have approached the case carelessly and superficially, as evidenced by the two refusals to initiate a criminal case regarding her death.

In response, Tatyana's relatives and friends are planning to make a public appeal in the media, seeking justice for Tatyana. A press conference is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 12, at 11:00 in the Public Center (House of Trade Unions) at 24 Kuroshova Street, room 603. Participants will include Tatyana's relatives, friends, and lawyer.

Tatyana Vasilyeva-Simakova's mother is an invalid of the second group, and the family is struggling to cope with the loss. The driver who hit Tatyana has faced no consequences, and the investigative authorities have not provided support to Tatyana's relatives and friends.

The public is invited to attend the press conference and show their support for Tatyana's family in their quest for justice. Let us remember Tatyana Vasilyeva-Simakova, a dedicated journalist who left a lasting impact on her community, and let us strive for a more careful and thorough approach to investigating such tragic incidents.
