Jurassic Park-themed Lottery Games Show Consistent Success a Year After Release
Scientific Games, a leading name in the lottery industry, has continued its tradition of tying blockbuster brands to omnichannel lottery experiences with the launch of Jurassic World-themed games. Tina Hoover, VP Licensing at Scientific Games, expressed her excitement about the games, stating that they deliver thrilling experiences for players across the U.S. Scott Warner, another executive at the company, shared Hoover's enthusiasm, expressing his excitement about sending players to Hawaii for the lottery event tied to the franchise.
The games are available in various formats, including scratch, Fast Play, draw-based, Keno, eInstant, and second-chance digital formats. The South Carolina Education Lottery reported that the launch of the JURASSIC PARK-themed games has been very strong, with six-week sales being the second highest of any game over the past year. Washington's Lottery Director, Joshua Johnston, noted that players connected immediately with the game's nostalgia and design.
The success of the games has also been reflected in their sales performance. The JURASSIC WORLD-themed games are generating more funding for lottery beneficiary programs due to their larger-than-life sales performance. In fact, they are performing significantly better than market averages, with sales up to 161% higher than other games at the same price point.
Sixteen state lotteries have already launched Jurassic-themed scratch and Fast Play games, with another twenty lotteries participating in the expansion of the JURASSIC WORLD-themed games. The games are linked to a nationwide winners' event in Hawaii in 2026, where lottery winners will experience a Jurassic-themed celebration and compete for more prizes.
Scientific Games states that licensed brands help attract non-core players and boost loyalty signups by 63% more than non-branded games. This has been evident in the case of the Jurassic World-themed games, which have successfully attracted a wide range of players and boosted loyalty signups.
