Kamchatka Search and Rescue Team Celebrates 22nd Anniversary
The Kamchatka Search and Rescue Team marked its 22nd anniversary with a celebration attended by prominent figures, including Sergei Tulkkin, Deputy Chairman of the Kamchatka Krai Government, and the Kamchatka Krai Minister of Emergency Situations.
During the event, the Minister congratulated the rescuers, expressing pride in belonging to such a dedicated team. He noted that the work of the rescuers is a daily heroic deed, saving lives in the most difficult conditions.
One such rescuer, Igor Sesterov, was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the aftermath of the An-2 aircraft disaster. His actions, exemplifying the highest level of professionalism, saved many lives. For his courage, selflessness, and high professionalism displayed during rescue operations and the aftermath of emergencies, Sesterov received an award from the Kamchatka Krai Governor.
The "Honorary Rescuer" award was also presented at the celebration. Oleg Sergeyevich Bobrov received the award in recognition of his significant contributions to the team. Sergei Tulkkin, in his capacity as Deputy Chairman, awarded the "Honorary Rescuer" badge to Ivan Benedyukov, Deputy Chief of the Search and Rescue Team.
The Minister took the opportunity to thank the rescuers for their work and readiness to always come to the aid of those who need it.
