Kia's Updated Compact SUV Dramatically Emphasizes its Electrified Nature

The popular Kia Stonic has undergone a significant facelift, introducing a sleeker and more modern design, along with a host of advanced features and improved performance. The updated model is set to make its debut in Europe, Australia, and other markets by the end of 2025, marking the start of the 2026 model year.

A Sharper Exterior Design

The front end of the facelifted Stonic showcases slimmer headlights with modern LED elements and a narrower grille, giving the vehicle a more contemporary look. The rear of the car has been updated as well, featuring C-shaped LEDs and a redesigned bumper. The profile remains largely the same but gains new designs for the alloy wheels, adding to its overall appeal. The Stonic retains one of the most compact footprints in the B-SUV segment, measuring 4,165 mm (164 inches) long, making it an ideal choice for urban driving.

Enhanced Performance and Advanced Features

Power in the facelifted Stonic is sent to the front wheels through either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The new model is offered solely with a turbocharged 1.0-liter T-GDI three-cylinder gasoline engine, available in both standard and mild-hybrid forms. The output of the engine stands at 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS) or 113 hp (85 kW / 115 PS), depending on configuration.

The facelifted Stonic benefits from connected car features and a more generous Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, and Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist with Safe Exit Warning are among the new additions, ensuring a safer and more convenient driving experience.

Interior Overhaul and Premium Amenities

The interior of the facelifted Stonic has been overhauled with a redesigned dashboard and a new digital cockpit comprising dual 12.3-inch screens. The physical climate controls have been replaced by controls on the central touchscreen, providing a cleaner and more streamlined look. The new design is sharper and more modern, with the addition of a new steering wheel, ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, and USB-C ports.

The color palette of the facelifted Stonic has been updated with the addition of Adventurous Green and Yacht Blue, offering customers more choices to personalise their vehicles.

Kia is expected to announce availability details for the facelifted Stonic in the aforementioned markets soon. The new model is anticipated to be available in Germany and likely in other European markets starting from the end of the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Stonic continues on the platform of the now-discontinued Rio hatchback, ensuring a balanced blend of practicality and style. With its modern design, enhanced performance, and advanced features, the facelifted Kia Stonic is poised to continue its success in the B-SUV segment.
