In the heart of Bottrop, a group of new apprentices have begun their journey at Sparkasse Bottrop. Barbel Doberg, Denise Teigelkamp, Jan Schafer, Marc Reuschenbach, Kevin Plahuta, Palkpreet Kaur Ghotra, Eren Ergunbas, and Dilan Mutlu are the fresh faces joining the team this year.

The induction week at Sparkasse Bottrop included a focus on technical topics, but the highlight was undoubtedly the social day at the AWO kindergarten. This unique event, held at the city garden, provided the new apprentices with an opportunity to gain practical experience in a non-technical setting.

During the social day, the new apprentices worked alongside their peers from the second and third year of training. They found it both valuable and enjoyable, as well as interesting to work with children again. The kindergarten environment also made it easy for the new apprentices to meet and interact with their fellow apprentices and training supervisor Denise Teigelkamp.

Jan Schafer, a member of the Sparkasse's board, added that the Sparkasse offers its apprentices security, a long-term career perspective, and numerous development opportunities. He himself started his career as an apprentice at the Sparkasse.

Barbel Doberg, the CEO of Sparkasse Bottrop, emphasized the importance of training for securing the growing need for skilled workers. She highlighted that many long-serving employees at the Sparkasse started their careers as apprentices, some of whom now hold management positions.

While the Sparkasse did not provide information about the specific roles or departments the new apprentices will be working in, it is clear that each apprentice has many different opportunities to contribute to the company after graduation.

However, the Sparkasse did not provide information about any mentorship or support programs for the new apprentices during their training period, or the focus of the training week following the induction week.

Interested individuals can apply online for the next training year 2026 at www.sparkasse-bottrop.de/ausbildung. For specific personnel information such as the name of the training leader for the 2026 trainees at Sparkasse Bottrop, applicants are advised to contact the Sparkasse directly.
