LA-based Producer Chuck Lorre recently closed a $28 million deal for the refurbished John Elgin Woolf residence in the city.
Hollywood Regency Residence in Bel Air Sells for $27.5 Million
Television producer Chuck Lorre has expanded his real estate portfolio with the purchase of a Hollywood Regency residence in Bel Air, Los Angeles. The property, originally designed in the late 1940s by John "Jack" Elgin Woolf, was sold for $27.5 million.
The residence, which was Woolf's personal residence twice, offers a spacious 8,400 square feet with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The interior boasts parquet floors, vivid colors, and custom finishes, creating a unique and luxurious living space.
The primary suite is a highlight of the home, featuring a private balcony, dual walk-in closets, and two baths. The residence also includes a Moroccan-themed lounge, an office, a wine cellar, a gym, and picturesque grounds.
Outside, the grounds host a sunken fire pit area and a stone walkway that empties at a koi pond and gazebo. The property, which was originally purchased for $10 million less than its selling price four years ago, also offers an oceanfront retreat in Malibu, which Lorre bought almost 15 years ago from Tony Danza.
Before joining the website as a real estate writer, Wendy Bowman was a freelancer for Modern Luxury and several other media outlets, primarily covering luxury properties. Bowman was the one who reported on the sale of this Bel Air home to Chuck Lorre.
However, the identity of the real estate agent who marketed the house remains undisclosed in the search results. Despite this, the sale of the Hollywood Regency residence in Bel Air to Chuck Lorre is a significant addition to his longtime home in the Pacific Palisades area of L.A., which he purchased for $2.6 million in the mid-1990s.
