In a world where financial success is often sought after, few have managed to carve out a name for themselves like Oliver Brunner. With over two and a half decades of experience under his belt, Brunner has proven himself to be a formidable force in the investment industry.

Brunner's inspiration comes from an eclectic mix of personalities, including the legendary Warren Buffett and a number of enterprising entrepreneurs. Yet, he remains humble in celebrating his success, often unwinding with a glass of wine after a long day.

When the market takes a downturn, Brunner turns to "The Essays of Warren Buffett" by Lawrence Cunningham, a book he picks up every bear market to refocus on the essentials. He also advocates for every fund manager to read "Security Analysis" by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd, a classic text in the field of investment analysis.

Brunner's fund management career has been marked by the launch and management of successful products such as Mainfirst Global Dividend Stars, Uniglobal, Unifavorit Aktien, and Deka-Dividenden-Strategie. However, like any seasoned investor, he has also missed out on investments in numerous companies, including Sartorius, Apple, and Becton Dickinson & Co.

The Prussian mindset that pervades Germany, which believes the state can successfully regulate everything and be a good entrepreneur, frustrates Brunner. He voices his opinion on this matter, expressing a desire to engage in a dialogue with the Minister of Economics and the Minister of Finance about their statements on money and stock investments.

Brunner's career in fund management was not always his destined path. As a young man, he spent his summers working in horticulture, an experience that taught him humility and respect for physical work. If he had not become a fund manager, he might have become a historian.

In the realm of fund management, Brunner is not alone. He works alongside Christian Saalfrank, co-fund manager responsible for sustainable and high-dividend strategies. Together, they form Berenberg Sustainable Stiftung, a fund management company that continues to make waves in the industry.

Brunner is also impressed by personalities like Helmut Schmidt, a former German Chancellor, and Ludwig Erhard, a past Minister of Economics. As Erhard turns in his grave due to the current statements on money and stock investments, Brunner remains a beacon of wisdom and experience in the ever-evolving world of finance.
