Lamborghini Unveils Limited-Edition Hypercar: The Fenomeno

Lamborghini has unveiled a new limited-edition hypercar, the Fenomeno, marking a significant departure from its previous models in terms of interior design.

The Fenomeno's interior, designed by Mitja Borkert and his team at the Centro Stile division, draws inspiration from a Stealth Bomber-like cockpit layout and the Lamborghini Reventón, which was first produced in 2007. Borkert, the design director of Lamborghini, aimed for a more drivable generation of Lamborghini interiors in the Fenomeno.

Borkert compares the Fenomeno's design to a shark, with its body having been designed in a graphic way, featuring fewer lines, broad shoulders, a long tail, and a peaky front. The new hard-shell racing seats have a sinister, retro-modern extraterrestrial influence, and the interior hosts a ventilative protuberance above the central display with menacing ambient lights.

The strategically placed pads on the seats give them an almost android appearance, adding to the cinematic drama when driving, as Borkert intended. However, some elements of the Fenomeno's interior joy and delight are not always pragmatic, Borkert admits, stating they are just for looking cool.

The Fenomeno's interior design does not necessarily make the driver a better one or help them drive faster. Instead, it offers a unique driving experience that is different from earlier Lamborghini interiors, which were considered heavy and not so well drivable.

The Fenomeno will cap its production at 29 units, plus one for Lamborghini's archives. It is based on the contemporary gasoline/electric hybrid that powers the Lamborghini Revuelto. Borkert describes the Fenomeno as "hyper-elegant" and aggressive.

The exterior styling of the Fenomeno is oddly restrained compared to other Lamborghini offerings, with fewer carbuncular strakes, intakes, or wings than other models. The Fenomeno hosts an exposed V-12 engine and has chopped rear fenders and valences.

The design of the Fenomeno was influenced by a secret prototype and Lamborghini's heritage of extreme, angular design language. Borkert, who considers the Reventón to be his personal favourite Lamborghini, aims for a more drivable generation of Lamborghini interiors in the Fenomeno.
