The Art Academy recently hosted a series of events to recognise and celebrate the achievements of its students. The highlights of these events included various scholarships and awards, as well as the much-anticipated Open Studios.

In a ceremony organised by the Society of Friends and Sponsors, foster prizes worth 1,500 euros each were presented to the classes of Acting Professor Maximiliane Baumgartner and Ari Benjamin Meyers. The Art Association of the Rhineland and Westphalia, in collaboration with the Cultural Foundation of Düsseldorf's City Savings Bank, also awarded three travel scholarships worth 1,500 euros each. Stella Jermann from the class of Acting Professor Ed Atkins was awarded a study stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. This prestigious opportunity will allow Stella to immerse herself in the rich artistic culture of Paris and further develop her skills.

During the Open Studios 2025, which took place from February 9 and continued until a specified date, approximately 42,000 visitors had the chance to view the works of the students. The event was a great success, providing an opportunity for the students to share their creations with the public.

Some students also received awards during the Open Studios. Da Eun Kim from the class of Professor Gregor Schneider received a travel scholarship worth 2,000 euros from "The Ginkgo Foundation / Art Hotel Ufer". Two project prizes worth 500 euros each were presented to Jessica Tille from the class of Professor Gregor Schneider and Philipp Baumann from the class of Professor Nina Canell.
