Latest Releases: Top 5 Most Thrilling Televisions at IFA 2025
Tech Highlights from IFA 2025: A Glimpse into the Future of TVs
At this year's IFA, the world's leading trade show for consumer electronics, several tech giants showcased innovative TVs that promise to revolutionise the viewing experience. Here's a round-up of some of the most intriguing displays.
Toshiba, a Japanese manufacturer known for its LED and QLED models, made a surprising entrance into the OLED market. The Toshiba XF9F OLED TV, priced at £1,199 for a 65-inch model, supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and boasts a 120Hz refresh rate for gaming. The designs of these OLED TVs, reminiscent of a 1960s 'idea of the future' home, also feature a tall model with its own stand. One of the models even comes equipped with external speakers powered by Onkyo, similar to the ones found on the Panasonic Z95B and Philips OLED909.
Samsung, meanwhile, showcased a diverse range of TVs. The South Korean giant unveiled the micro-RGB 115-inch TV, a high-end model using micro LEDs for high brightness, bold color, and deep black levels. During a demonstration, it was found to have better local dimming precision compared to Hisense's 116-inch RGB mini-LED TV. Samsung also introduced the Movingstyle, its first portable TV, following in the footsteps of LG's StanbyME and StanbyME Go TVs, featuring a carry handle that doubles as a kickstand.
LG presented the Transparent OLED TV, winning the Best of IFA award for the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world's first wireless transparent TV. The Vestel Nekst TV, another transparent OLED TV, was also showcased, although details about its price and availability are not yet known. Interestingly, the Vestel Nekst TV was found in the health section of IFA 2025, acting as a display for health gadgets.
Hisense also joined the fray with an 85-inch RGB mini-LED TV, offering similar vibrant colours, high brightness, and rich black levels as its larger models.
Lastly, Toshiba showcased OLED TVs at IFA 2025, with designs focused on sound. However, the two numbered OLED models nearby, the XF9F and the XV9G, were concepts, suggesting that we may see these TVs in the market soon.
These innovations at IFA 2025 offer a glimpse into the future of TV technology, with a focus on improved picture quality, immersive sound, and unique designs. Stay tuned for more updates as these new TVs hit the market.
