Latest Updates from NAB Show 2024: Introductions of Novel Products by Canon, Panasonic Connect, and Others
At this year's NAB Show, held at Booth C3310, Panasonic Connect is set to unveil new additions to its solution suite, promising to revolutionise content production for various environments.
One of the highlights is the AT-KC200L1 Main Frame (KAIROS Core 200), a fresh addition to Panasonic Connect's KAIROS lineup. Designed for SDI-centric customers in entertainment venues, rental & staging, and corporate environments, this powerful device is poised to streamline media workflows.
Meanwhile, Panasonic Connect is also set to showcase the AW-UE30 PTZ Camera, offering enhanced video streaming with 4K/30p images and 20x optical zoom. This camera aims to make remote participants feel as if they are present in person, bridging the gap between physical and virtual events.
In the realm of lighting, Litepanels is launching the Astra IP Range. Details about the new product are scarce, but it is expected to be designed for outdoor conditions with durability and weatherproofing features. The Astra IP is IP65-rated for protection against dust and water ingress, ensuring reliable performance in adverse weather conditions.
Canon is also making waves with its new CJ27ex7.3B lens. This portable 2/3-inch lens with 27x optical zoom and enhanced optical performance is classified as a UHDxs lens. It spans a focal range of 7.3mm to 197mm, and with a built-in 2x extender, its maximum telephoto reach increases to 394mm. The lens features Canon's next-generation drive unit, the e-Xs V, with an angled 20-pin connector and a built-in USB-C connector.
Focus Breathing Compensation and Automatic Restoration of Illumination Attenuation (ARIA)ii technology are supported in the new lens to help minimise the effects of f-drop/ramping as the lens zooms.
The TASCAM IF-ST2110 Expansion Card, to be unveiled at Booth CC6617, provides full support for the SMPTE ST 2110 AV networking standard.
Evertz is introducing the RFK-ITXE-HW-DUO, a next-generation media processing platform for hybrid broadcast facilities and broadcasters transitioning to IP. This versatile platform supports multiple transcode paths, UHD HEVC decode and encode, JPEG XS encode, SMPTE ST 2110, SDR and HDR, and offers a flexible and scalable platform for various media workflows.
Litepanels is also showcasing the new Astra IP Bi-Color LED panel range at Booth C5817. This range is built to withstand tough outdoor conditions and offers an integrated power supply and optional Gold Mount, V-Mount, and BP-U battery plates for easy setup in any location. The Astra IP provides accurate white light from 2,700K to 6,500K at any intensity level, with or without diffusion.
Lastly, the RFK-ITXE-HW-DUO, to be unveiled by R fragile at Booth SU2027, is a media processing platform designed for hybrid broadcast facilities and broadcasters transitioning to IP.
Panasonic Connect's Media Production Suite software platform centralises camera management for small team operations, streamlining camera setup and providing a wide range of features to support high-quality video production.
