Latin American Region to Witness Installation of 500 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations by Evinka
Evinka, a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, is set to expand its public charging network across Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. The company currently operates chargers in several countries, including Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Chile.
In Peru, Evinka is supplying charging infrastructure for a fleet of 19 electric buses in Lima. However, only two out of approximately six charging stations are operational due to issues with energy regulation and charging fees. To address this, Evinka plans to change its business model in Peru by focusing on areas with lower energy costs and offering agreements with car brands to encourage usage of their stations.
To cater to the growing demand for fast charging, Evinka is planning to install its first fast charging station in Peru this year. The modular fast charger, named the "Evinka FlexiCharge," offers flexibility in power output and the ability to charge multiple vehicles simultaneously. It can service up to four vehicles simultaneously or concentrate power on a single vehicle. The charger will initially have a capacity of 20 kilowatts but can be scaled up to 80 kilowatts by connecting multiple units.
Evinka aims to open at least ten new charging stations, primarily in Lima, next year. The company is investing around three million dollars in total to install both fast and slow public charging stations.
In addition to the fast charger, Evinka's popular Alien X charger, which resembles a Wallbox charger, is well-received in Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador due to its premium design, advanced connectivity, and competitive pricing. The Alien X charger features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and functions as a public charger due to its CPP system.
Evinka ensures quality technical support for its customers, with local teams of engineers and technicians in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile. In markets where it does not have offices, such as Bolivia and Paraguay, Evinka works with local representatives or manages after-sales service remotely, training clients' staff to ensure the proper operation of the chargers.
Looking ahead, Evinka plans to launch operations in Brazil and Mexico by the end of 2025. The company's ultimate goal is to connect 500 chargers across the three countries by the end of 2025, creating their own charging network. The expansion of Evinka's public charging network is a significant step forward in promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in the region.
