Launching its Asian expansion in 2012, The Brandery plans a spin-off movement
The urban fashion fair, The Brandery, known for its success in Barcelona, is set to make its debut in Singapore with the launch of The Brandery Asia. This exciting development is a joint venture between Fira de Barcelona and MPI, a Singapore-based organiser of the International Textile Machinery Exhibition (Itma), the largest textile machinery fair.
The Brandery was born in Barcelona after the city's exit from the Berlin fair Bread & Butter. Its last edition, held in the Catalan capital, attracted 100 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors. The fair combines spaces dedicated to the professional public with activities aimed at the final public.
In a bid to attract Spanish and European brands looking to enter the Asian market, Fira de Barcelona is commercialising The Brandery Asia in the Asian market. The first edition of this new urban fashion fair will take place from May 17 to 20, 2012, coinciding with the celebration of the "Blueprint" fair in Singapore.
The Blueprint fair, dedicated to emerging designers, is another key player in the fashion industry that is partnering with The Brandery Asia. The collaboration agreement for this project was signed with INKA Ent., an organisational company based in Singapore.
Interestingly, The Brandery Asia is not the first edition of The Brandery, as it has already been held in Barcelona. The last edition of the fair was held in Barcelona just last July, with the next edition set to take place from January 27 to 29.
The final decision regarding The Brandery Asia will not be made until the response of potential exhibitors is known. This move is seen as a strategic step by Fira de Barcelona to establish a strong presence in the Asian market and provide a platform for European and Spanish brands to showcase their urban fashion offerings.
In conclusion, The Brandery Asia is an exciting development in the fashion industry, marking the expansion of Barcelona's successful urban fashion fair to Singapore. With its focus on emerging designers and a strategic partnership with the Blueprint fair, The Brandery Asia promises to be a significant event in the Asian fashion landscape.
