In the early hours of Thursday morning, a smash-and-grab incident took place at Dittmer's department store on Church Street, Hanstedt. Two suspects were involved in the incident, shattering a window to gain entry to the store and making off with several packs of cigarettes.

One of the suspects, a 19-year-old, was spotted by police and is believed to be one of the two suspects involved. However, the accomplice of the 19-year-old remains at large. Several packs of cigarettes were found outside the store, likely dropped during the getaway.

The Hanstedt police are currently appealing for witnesses regarding the incident. They are seeking information from the public to help identify and locate the second suspect involved in the smash-and-grab. The police are asking anyone with any information about the incident to call 04181 2850.

The incident has caused concern in the local community, with many expressing shock and dismay at the brazen nature of the crime. Dittmer's department store has released a statement, assuring customers that they are working closely with the police to ensure the safety of their staff and customers.

The police are urging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident to come forward and provide information.
