New Force Public Relations Officer Appointed: CSP Benjamin Hundeyin Takes Charge

The Nigerian Police Force has announced a new appointment for its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, a seasoned communicator with a distinguished career, has been appointed to the role.

CSP Hundeyin, who currently serves as the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, has honed his skills in international peacekeeping and crisis communication. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).

Hundeyin's appointment comes after a successful tenure as the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command since March 2022. He is credited with improving police-community relations in the state and earning widespread recognition for his proactive engagement with the public and the media.

The development is described as a routine administrative adjustment aimed at career progression and manpower optimization. DCP Muyiwa Adejobi has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command following his recent promotion.

CSP Hundeyin holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master's degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He has undergone specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army's leadership institute in Jaji.

In his new role as FPRO, CSP Hundeyin is expected to spearhead the Force's communications strategy, enhancing transparency and strengthening public trust through effective crisis management and strategic messaging. His transition for the new role is expected to take effect in the coming days after an official handover ceremony at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

CSP Hundeyin's distinguished career includes a stint with the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID). He is expected to bring this wealth of experience to bear in his new role, further strengthening the police's relationship with the public and the media.
