Law Enforcement Agents are carrying out warranted arrests.

In a series of events on June 16, federal police officers conducted a check at Essen Central Station, which led to the arrest of a 39-year-old German national. The man was apprehended in the main hall of the station.

The wanted notice for the 39-year-old was issued by Kleve Public Prosecutor's Office. It was later revealed that he had three outstanding wanted notices against him. The authority responsible for executing the arrest warrant was the local police, typically in cooperation with the public prosecutor's office and the court that issued the warrant.

The 39-year-old from Duisburg was arrested on the spot and taken to Essen police custody. The total amount of the fine he owed was 386.00 euros (including costs), as stated by the Essen Public Prosecutor's Office. Due to his inability to pay the required amount, the federal police officers took him to a detention facility.

The 39-year-old had a history with the law. In February 2024, he was sentenced by Moers District Court to a fine of 20 daily rates of 15.00 euros each, or alternatively to ten days in prison. However, he had failed to comply with the sentence, leading to his arrest.

The responsible supervisory authority had reported a 17-year-old, from Schwelm, as missing. It was later discovered that this juvenile was the individual encountered at platform 22 during the police check. The juvenile had previously been sentenced in February 2024 to a youth sentence of six months probation for joint theft. However, he violated his probation conditions, leading to its revocation.

From Essen police custody, the juvenile will be presented to the competent judge. The Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin is the responsible authority for further inquiries. For more information, the Press Office of the Federal Police Inspectorate Dortmund can also be contacted.
