Law enforcement agents from the federal government apprehended a group of wanted Czech individuals in Waldsassen

A 33-year-old Czech national was arrested on May 28th in Waldsassen by the Bundespolizei-Oberinspektion Waidhaus. The arrest was made during reintroduced border controls to the Czech Republic.

The man was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle with a German license plate and was stopped at the Waldsassen border crossing. The Waidhaus Federal Police officers, responsible for the districts of Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Tirschenreuth, and the independent city of Weiden, worked to ensure safety on railways based on the Schengen Border Code.

The Bundespolizei-Oberinspektion Waidhaus also focuses on crime prevention and risk prevention in the field of railway police tasks. In this case, the Federal Police discovered that the man was wanted by several German judicial authorities for various offenses, ranging from fraud and threats to online fraud.

Several other measures for the location of the 33-year-old were taken by various public prosecutors' offices, including in Bayreuth, Kiel, and Amberg. Two enforceable arrest warrants were issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Amberg against the man.

The Waidhaus Federal Police officers work in close cooperation with the Bavarian and Czech police and the customs office to combat cross-border crime. This cooperation was evident in the arrest of the 33-year-old, as the Bavarian and Czech police and the customs office were involved in the operation.

The Regional Court in Amberg sentenced the man to a three-month prison sentence for violating the compulsory insurance law. In another procedure, the same court imposed a total prison sentence of seven months for coercion. After completion of the police measures, the man was taken to the Weiden Prison to serve his prison sentences.
