Vandalism Spree in Elmshorn: Police Investigate Over 17 Cases

On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, a series of vandalism incidents occurred in the Elmshorn city area. The police in Elmshorn have initiated 17 criminal proceedings for vandalism, following reports of spray paint and demolitions.

The incidents took place between Tuesday evening around 20:00 and Wednesday morning around 05:00. Among the affected sites were a primary school in Mommsenstraße, where a glass element at the entrance was damaged, costing approximately 3,000 euros. Additionally, two bus stops in Heidmühlenweg and Morthorststraße had their glass panes destroyed.

Thirteen parked cars in the area from Heidmühlenweg north to Timm-Kroger-Straße were sprayed with paint, adding to the high four-digit cleaning costs. A speed camera in Ansgarstraße was also vandalised.

The police are working diligently to narrow down the time of the acts and are interested in any other cases of vandalism from this night that are not yet known to them. A connection between the vandalism incidents in Elmshorn is currently being assumed.

The police are asking for information from witnesses, particularly any observations of individuals or groups handling spray paint or destroying glass panes in the mentioned areas.
