Law enforcement authorities in Poland detained a suspected thief in the German town of Tübingen
A 19-year-old suspect was arrested early on August 8, 2025, for suspected residential burglary in Reutlingen. The arrest was facilitated by an alert homeowner who encountered the burglar in their residence in the Wanne district.
According to information received from the Police Headquarters Reutlingen, transmitted via news aktuell, the suspect was placed in handcuffs and temporarily detained by the police. The suspect was subsequently presented to the Tübingen District Court on Friday afternoon.
The Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen is investigating the suspect, with the assistance of a specialized investigation group of the Esslingen Criminal Police Directorate based in Tübingen, known as the "Spezialisierte Ermittlungsgruppe (SEG)."
Investigations are ongoing to determine if the suspect is linked to other crimes. The suspect has a criminal record for theft-related offenses.
The judge issued the warrant of arrest requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office and ordered its execution. Following the court hearing, the German national was taken to a detention facility.
The suspect attempted to flee but was held by the homeowner. During the attempt to flee, the suspect fell on the house terrace. The stolen car key was returned to the victim before the officers arrived.
