New Police Recruits Sworn In Amidst Düsseldorf's Charm

In a formal setting, the city of Düsseldorf, renowned for its Altbier, Carnival, and fair, played host to a significant event in its law enforcement sector. The Directorate of Danger Prevention/Deployment, LPD Thorsten Fleiß, administered the oath of service to 423 new police recruits, marking the beginning of their journey towards becoming dedicated public servants.

The event was graced by the presence of Police President Miriam Brauns and her entire leadership team, signifying the importance of this occasion. In addition to the recruits, the gathering included 40 officers from other agencies, all eager to contribute to the city's security in the future.

The 423 police cadets, comprising 167 females and 256 males, have embarked on a dual study programme for the Düsseldorf location. This unique educational approach combines academic and practical training, preparing them to become effective police officers in three years' time.

As the new recruits took their oath, the Jazz Rock Pop Band of the State Police Orchestra provided a fitting backdrop, accompanying the singing of the national anthem. The event concluded with a warm welcome from Police President Miriam Brauns, who welcomed 171 university graduates at the official welcoming ceremony.

Throughout their training, the new recruits are expected to express their commitment to apprehending criminals, ensuring safety, and restoring the population's trust in the state. After a year, they are encouraged to express their eagerness to contribute to a safer world in Düsseldorf.

The Rhineland spirit was palpable in the air, adding to the sense of camaraderie and unity among the attendees. As the new recruits embark on this challenging yet rewarding journey, they can look forward to a warm welcome upon completion of their training.
