The Kiel police, in their statement, emphasised the importance of always assuming the worst-case scenario to ensure the safety of everyone involved. They advised neighbours to keep each other informed of unusual activities to prevent potential confusion.
However, neither the officers nor the caller could have assessed the situation as harmless, given the nature of the incident. The police appealed to citizens to consider their surroundings in leisure activities to avoid misunderstandings.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or actual threat situation during the role-play. Once the situation was resolved, the police withdrew their major deployment.
The local newspaper, Hamburger Abendblatt, reported that the role-play did not have a sexual background. Despite their report, the police did not confirm or deny whether the participants had informed their neighbours beforehand.
