There has been an increase in small van break-ins in the Salzlandkreis region, with several incidents reported over the past week. The latest reported break-in occurred on a construction site in Bernburg, where unknown perpetrators gained unauthorized access and stole various electrical tools and approximately 200 liters of diesel fuel from a construction container.

On Magdeburger Straße in Calbe, another incident was reported over the weekend, where unknown perpetrators broke into a van. The burglars gained entry by force through the side sliding door of the van, causing an estimated damage of at least €1,000. It is believed that various tools were stolen from the van.

A similar incident occurred on Faehrweg in Calbe, where the damage to the van is estimated at a minimum of €2,000. The perpetrators gained entry by force through the side sliding door of the van, and it is believed that various tools were stolen.

The preferred target in these recent break-ins appears to be electrical tools from well-known manufacturers. The public is advised to ensure company vehicles are secure and parked in safe locations to prevent such incidents.

Investigations have been initiated regarding the break-ins and thefts from the vans on Magdeburger Straße and Faehrweg in Calbe, as well as the burglary at the construction site on Landstraße 146 between Baalberge and the wind park on L149.

The city of Barby in Salzlandkreis also experienced a similar break-in at a construction site booth, resulting in the theft of electrical tools and gasoline, as reported by the Salzlandkreis police department on September 8, 2025.

As the investigations continue, the authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. The authorities also advise business owners to secure their vehicles and equipment to prevent such incidents from happening.
