Law enforcement headquarters in Salzland district under scrutiny
A crime scene investigation is currently underway in Hohenerxleben, following a burglary and a traffic accident that occurred over the weekend.
On Sunday evening, an elderly woman received an unusual phone call from individuals claiming to be police officers. They inquired about cash and jewelry stored in her residence. However, the police in Haldensleben wish to clarify that they never ask about such matters.
Later that same evening, an unknown man, claiming to be a police officer, demanded entry to the woman's residence. When she refused due to the late hour, the man forced entry by breaking a window. Investigations suggest a high probability of a connection between this incident and the earlier phone call.
Unfortunately, the elderly woman suffered no physical harm, but her home was violated, and cash is missing from the safe. The police do not collect valuables to keep them safe for you, and they urge anyone who experiences such incidents to contact the police station to inquire if officers were on duty during the suspected timeframe.
In a separate incident, a 23-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle in a right curve on the B246 on Sunday evening. He slid onto the grass verge and sustained slight injuries. The police are not currently linking this accident to the burglary.
Furthermore, unknown perpetrators forced entry into an administrative building of an educational institution over the weekend. The police are actively investigating this incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
