Law enforcement intensifying speed limit checks on drivers of Sports Utility Vehicles exceeding 100 kilometers per hour.
In an evening speed control operation on August 21, 2025, officers from Pinneberg Police Station, under the supervision of the Police Directorate Bad Segeberg, conducted a speeding operation on LĂŒbezer StraĂe/Am Bahndamm in Halstenbek.
During the operation, a 20-year-old German citizen named Rellinger was caught speeding over 100 km/h, with a recorded speed of 119 km/h after deducting a measurement tolerance. Rellinger was driving a Range Rover SUV and complied immediately upon seeing the stop signal with the red police sign.
In addition to the offence in Halstenbek, Rellinger also overtook a passing car in Bickbargen at an excessive speed. As a result, the Police Directorate Bad Segeberg has accused Rellinger of grossly violating traffic rules and driving recklessly. Proceedings have been initiated for Rellinger's driving behaviour in court.
The speed limit on LĂŒbezer StraĂe/Am Bahndamm during the operation was 50 km/h. Between 21:30 and 22:30, officers recorded a total of 12 speeding offences during the operation. Proceedings have also been initiated for the other 11 speeding offenses recorded during the operation.
