The "Wonderland" music festival in Minden-LĂźbbecke, Germany, once again attracted the attention of local authorities over the weekend, with a series of speeding violations and drug-related incidents reported.

A notable incident occurred on the access road to the festival grounds, where a 25-year-old woman from the MĂźnsterland region was stopped for a control in a Peugeot. The woman exhibited suspicious behaviour related to drug consumption and, despite her attempts to manipulate a drug test with water from a public toilet during the control, the test came back positive. A subsequent test with her actual urine also yielded a positive result.

In a separate incident, a 41-year-old man without a fixed address was stopped in a rental car from the Czech Republic at 3:45 PM on Sunday. The man refused to give a blood sample and resisted after the positive drug test. As a result, he had to deposit a security to ensure the procedure following his resistance. The name of the man, who was arrested, is not provided in the available search results.

The fast-paced festival atmosphere seemed to have affected the driving habits of some attendees as well. The fastest driver recorded on Sunday was a motorcyclist, who clocked in at 132 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. Over 1,000 speeding violations were detected around the festival grounds.

Among the 8,944 vehicles measured during speed checks, a total of 1,292 violations were documented. Of these, 940 drivers received a warning fine, and 352 were reported. A 40-year-old man faces a fine of 600 euros, a two-month driving ban, and two points on his license for one such violation.

59 people were asked to provide a blood sample during the festival, and one woman's sample tested positive for drugs. The man claimed to live "everywhere in the world."

Press inquiries can be directed to the Minden-LĂźbbecke Police Press and Public Relations team. The "Wonderland" music festival, while a source of entertainment for many, serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible behaviour.
